XVIII Paiz Art Biennial

Convivir/Compartir (Living/Sharing)

This edition of the Bienal de Arte Paiz followed the previously adopted format of a curated biennial. A new challenge for the  art event was to incorporate an educational program aimed at finding new audiences and strengthening relationships with people passing through the city’s historic center.

Spanish-born Santiago Olmo was appointed the Bienal’s chief curator and after a thorough search, he selected Anabella Acevedo, Silvia Herrera, and Javier Payeras to join the curatorial team.

Under the main theme of Living/Sharing, new spaces for dialogue opened up as in the case of Uruguayan Carlos Capelan’s workshop entitled “Sharing work as an experience.“ Luis González Palma along with writer Francisco Najera conducted the workshop “experience the city.”
