Rirkrit Tiravajina is a contemporary artist based in New York, Berlin, and Chiang Mai, Thailand. His installations often take the form of stages or room for sharing meals, cooking, reading, or listening to music; architecture, life structures, and socialization are central elements in his oeuvre.
His work is marked by mobility between Thai culture and Western culture, which has taken him to highlight the relativity of the “artistic” and the relationship between the viewer and the work, through critically-viewed installations that aspire to expand the creator’s scope of action and his influence in the everyday world.
